2.5* $57 for May 18.

"Cocoa area hotel"

9.0-12.5 mi from city center

Amenities:

- Free Parking

- Complimentary Breakfast

- Free Internet

- Airport shuttle

- Pool(s)

I think this is La Quinta Cocoa Beach but I then I can't tell what this following one would be:

3* $56 for May 18.

"Cocoa Beach - Cape Canaveral"

0.5-5.0 mi from city center

Amenities:

- Complimentary Breakfast

- Free Internet

- High speed Internet access

- Business Center

- Fitness Center

- Laundry Facilities (self-service)

- Pool(s)

Appreciate any insight on this - as usual, will use BB links to book.

cheers,

:)

I don't have a guess for the 2.5* Cocoa property, but my guess for the 3* would be the La Quinta Cocoa Beach (1275 N. Atlantic Ave), upgraded since the last time it was reported to the board.

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.

Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.

Thx a mint for the reply and info, thereuare. Very helpful as I was going off the pinned hotel list which still showed La Quinta as a 2.5* With this info, I mapped the 2 properties and the 3* is much further from the port so I'll pass on it.

Still biding my time with PL - if anything relevant comes of either PL/HW, I will be sure to post back, and of course use your links for the purchase.

cheers,

:)

If proximity to the port is important you should try our sister site: Pre-CruiseHotels.com where Port Canaveral is listed as one of the ports (if you're active on any cruise websites and anyone wants us to add a port to the drop down menu just let us know as we have it set up so that we can do so very easily)

The Radisson is the closest hotel to the port. Not sure if you're looking pre/post cruise or looking for some place to go on a day pass, but we once went to the Hilton Oceanfront on a day pass and met some family from the area there... used the pool, walked the beach a little, then ate dinner and had a few drinks during happy hour at the bar. Like most beachfront properties the property it's difficult to maintain with all the wind, sand, and other weather elements, but they did a pretty good job and we had a good time there (although it's not that close to the port).

Let us know whatever you end up doing for this stay or if we can be of further help.

Wow, very cool tool. I'm on cc a lot and haven't seen it mentioned so I'll pass on the word. I'm looking for a pre-cruise stay but will keep in mind the info on Hilton for future visits - thx!

cheers,

:)

Glad you like the new site and thanks for passing the word along about Pre Cruise Hotels... it makes it very easy to see how much more/less a hotel will cost if you want to go up/down in star rating or are willing to stay closer/further away.

Keep us updated on your stay above and let us know if we can be of further help along the way.

So after the replies, I watched the PL & HW rates and did some unsuccessful bidding when a PL $7/nte bonus was offered. A couple of days ago, I decided I had to pull the trigger and when my daily search loaded, I felt: :o The HW deal was gone! There yesterday, gone today - just like I KNOW can happen to inventory but when one sees it everyday, you still THINK it'll be there tmrw. I searched hotel sites directly (prices had gone up) and consolidators...yikes! I'd waited too long :( So for a couple of more days, nothing. Then today :D the HW deal was back and I took it!

thereuare was right, that La Quinta!

Rate per night: $57.00

Nights: 1

Rooms: 1

Tax recovery charges & fees: $12.45

Subtotal: $69.45

Trip total: $69.45

I'm very happy with this 'win' - it saves me almost half of what I would have paid at Country Inn (rez made during a sale, and our situation recently changed so I was looking for less expensive options now). La Quinta has pretty good reviews (Tripadvisor 4/5), a good list of amenities, is close to the port, and given the savings, staying here will be great for one nite pre-cruise.

Thx a mint for your help and these forums! (Of course, I used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on these boards)

cheers, :)
