Hotwire Hotel: 4* London 8/22 to 8/26

Hello,

New to the forum, First post!

Traveling to London, UK from 8/22 thru 8/26 for usual touristy stuff! Questions:

- Which is the best part of city to stay in (affordable as well)?

- Looking for 4* for 2 adults and 2 kids. Any suggestion on bidding tips specific to London? I have seen few posts on the forum and will keep reading it further.

- Priceline bidding does not allow me set number of kids. Is that usually a problem?

It can be... especially in Europe where standards are a bit more basic than their US counterparts. It isn't a risk i would recommend taking... but HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc) Would this be acceptable for your needs?

What is your target budget per nite before taxes and fees? If you use the BiddingHelper.com above and search for your dates and 2adults/2children, does anything appear at the 4* or higher level and within your budget?

London fire regulations are very strict--and we've had problems in the past with priceline bidding and adding kids.

I'd recommend against PRICELINE--and go with HOTWIRE instead. HOTWIRE "says" they guarantee there will be enough beds, but London is a difficult city to get a great deal. I've had good luck contacting hotels directly instead.
