Hi everyone,

we will be visiting Boston for the first time, so I wanted to get the advice of this board regarding which zones to choose. I did some research online and found that "Boston Common - Theater District," "Copley Square - Back Bay," and "Quincy Market - Financial District" seem to be the most frequently recommended. Do these zones fit?

I'd like to start with a 4* strategy up to $140. If unsuccessful, then a 3.5* strategy would work as well.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The zones you listed are the most frequently bid for the average user.

When bidding Boston at both the 3.5* and 4* levels you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

At current rates I think a 3.5* hotel at $120 or less will be difficult, but you can revise the previous strategy as per the following, using your FIVE re-bid zones:

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE

It seems that you are right, I have not been successful with 3.5* up to 125 USD. What would the the recommended next step? Should we add another zone beside Common, Copley and Quincy or should we go for 3*? Unfortunately 3* only has one re-bid zone

Thanks again and best regards

Whether to add other zones or lower your star rating really depends upon your needs for this trip and what you look for from a hotel.

Is increasing your budget for a 4* hotel a possibility... i think you may be able to get a centrally located 4* hotel for ~$140-$160 for these dates.

Which areas would you recommend in addition to Common, Copley and Quincy Market?

For us it is Important to be able to go to the most interesting points in Boston via the subway, as we will not have a rental car this time. Additionally it would be nice to have a nice neighborhood near the hotel with some nice restaurants.

Thanks again for your answer

This three zone, and perhaps Beacon Hill, keep you centrally located... after that location tends to become a bit more important in order to ensure you're closer to a T station. If location is one of the most important aspects of this stay i would try for the 4* on PRICELINE if you're budget will allow... or lower your star rating to 3*.

Hi everyone,

unfortunately I have not been successful so far until 125 USD with 4*. I will no go down to 3*, but I also wanted to ask you whether you can recommend another area, that may be less expensive than Common, Copley and Quincy Market. We do not have a car and want to see the usual POIs for tourists in Boston, so it is important to be close to one of the subway lines.

Thanks for another recommendation!

I will no go down to 3*...

Not sure if you meant will now go down to 3* OR not go down to 3*.

...wanted to ask you whether you can recommend another area, that may be less expensive than Common, Copley and Quincy Market. We do not have a car and want to see the usual POIs for tourists in Boston, so it is important to be close to one of the subway lines.

You can try the Waterfront-Convention Center zone which is do-able, but not as convenient or centrally located as the others. The Cambridge zone(s) can often work, but the issue here is that the zones are so geographically large you can't ensure that you'll have good access to the T (Boston's train system)... as you get outside of 'downtown proper' the stations become further and further apart.

I understand if your budget is firm, but i do think the best bank for your buck would be a 4* up to $140-$160 in the centrally located zones you have already bid.
