mcfly21 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 I am looking for a hotel for these 3 nights in the Beacon Hill, Boston Common, or Back Bay area.I was hoping to spend around $150/night but some initial bids told me it probably won't happen. What's the best way to go about getting the best price for a 3*+?
thereuare Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!I assume your current bids were at the 3* level and you've already tried up to $150? If so, given that $150 has already been turned down, how high are you willing to go? Is $200 acceptable? Also, while nothing is cheap for these dates, Quincy Market may offer some of the best value (on a relative basis), is this zone acceptable?Let us know the above and we'll formulate a plan of action. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. mcfly21 Posted April 26, 2012 Author Report Posted April 26, 2012 I think the highest I would go would be about $180. I'm mainly looking for an area that would have good restaurants around and is easy to get to tourist areas, by train or foot.I don't know the area that well so any area that would meet those criteria would work for me.Also, yes I have tried bidding up to $160 in the areas I mentioned. Thanks for your help
thereuare Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 Quincy Market is generally considered a touristy area and is usually one of the top three zones bid (Quincy Market, Copley Square and Boston Common). If you want to try these three zones, along with Beacon Hill, you can bid as follows:At the 3* level in Boston you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Quincy Market and Copley Square...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Boston Common and Beacon Hill...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Quincy Market and Beacon Hill...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Boston Common and Copley Square...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Quincy Market and Boston Common...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Copley Square and Beacon Hill...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Quincy Market and Boston Common and Copley...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Quincy Market and Boston Common and Beacon Hill...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Quincy Market and Copley and Beacon Hill...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Quincy Market and Copley and Boston Common...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Quincy Market and Copley and Beacon Hill and Boston Common...Bid $175, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINEBid $180Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
