Not sure if you've been to Vegas before with the kids, but a few cheap/fun things to do:

Volcano at Mirage, Fountains at Bellagio, see the melted chocolate presentation at the candy (or ice cream??) store inside bellatio, Lions at MGM Grand, walk inside a Castle at Excalibur, Penguins at Flamingo, and pick up a local advertising magazine at the hotel or some other touristy place for discount and 2 for 1 coupons.
