MrBewst Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 I was after the Hyatt Regency in Incline Village, NV. Knowing that Priceline only has one area with resort in the Lake Tahoe area right now, I used the advice as described in the stickies to choose a new area after each rejection.First day: In small increments was up to $75 and rejected each time.Second day: In small increments was up to $91 and rejected each time.Third day: Decided to start at $95 but threw an extra dollar in for luck and got it at $96. Comes out to $116 after the taxes and fee. Don't forget there is a resort fee on this one.Thank you to all who have put their time into this site. I am a new member however I plan to be back. One question, is it wise to overlap your bids each day in a case like this? In other words, should I have started out with $90 or lower? (After thinking about it, it couldn't have hurt - oh well!)Edit: I think I made a newbie mistake. This is not a 5* hotel. This is a Resort. Can one of the mods please update this for me? Sorry!
thereuare Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you're pleased with the results and received the property you were hoping for. Yes, 'overlapping' your bids is a good idea (if you have some time and re-bid zones available) since it gives you an opportunity to win at a lower rate should the 'minimum threshold rate' have been lowered since you last tried bidding.Thank you for sharing your win with the board.
