k_man Posted April 24, 2012 Author Report Posted April 24, 2012 Hello! Are you able to accept a hotel anywhere within the boundaries of PRICELINE's Hollywood zone?I am able to accept anything with the Hollywood zone boundary, but with my research it appears that a 4 STAR will guarantee me something close. (If I did my research right 4 STAR in this are only includes 3 Hotels)Are you familiar with re-bidding? If not, see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained. You have FOUR re-bid zones when bidding the 4* level, see if you can identify them and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm them with the board.I am familair with the rebidding process and the TIP to rebid in my oringinal zone and choose a zone which contain less then a 4 STAR rating as I will only be given a 4 STAR hotel which exist in my original zone. I am just affraid something will go wrong and I will get stuck somewhere futher away then I want to be. Is this re-bid proccess highly successful??
thereuare Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 If I did my research right 4 STAR in this are only includes 3 HotelsThere are currently only three 4* hotels reported to the board in this zone, but there could always be others... new hotels added to the system, a hotel previously reported upgraded/downgraded, etc. (see the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List)I am just affraid something will go wrong and I will get stuck somewhere futher away then I want to be. Is this re-bid proccess highly successful??It is if use properly check your re-bid zones using the strategy here: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained. At the 4* level in this area you have FOUR re-bid zones. Feel free to ask questions and/or confirm them with the board, and also double check them before you start each bidding cycle.Currently rates are high for this nite... what is your maximum bid for this trip? (before you'd consider other zones and/or lowering your star rating)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. k_man Posted April 25, 2012 Author Report Posted April 25, 2012 Thanks for all the help!I do not really have a maximum bid in mind, maybe $170 max for a 4 STAR as parking is an additional cost.I could pick a 3 1/2 STAR, but not certain about 3 1/2 STAR in the Hollywood area.I am going to try 120 tonight and work my way up.I will definately update the website with my successful bid.
thereuare Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 At the moment i don't think $170 will likely be enough, but keep us updated on your progress and we'll discuss other options if/when your maximum bid is reached. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck!
