Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip South) Aria Resort And Casino

Hello,

I will be staying in Vegas checking in August 21 and checking out August 25. I know the last night is a Friday night, and would be willing to exclude that night from bidding (if it would result in better rate, I have enough points for a free night at the Cosmopolitan). However, I am wondering what the best strategy is for this time frame (August mid week should be a good deal).

Any tips on bidding, or amounts I should expect to pay in order to lock in a 5*?

I am an M rewards member and do see a rate of $109 coming up for the Vdara if I book directly through the hotel.

Do you think I could do better than this by enough to make it worth it via PRICELINE?

Are you looking for North Strip and South Strip, or would either be okay? (or are you looking for the more reasonable of the two zones?) I think you could likely get a 5* in the South Strip zone on PRICELINE for $80-90 +/-$5.

We actually would prefer the South Strip as these hotels seem a bit newer and we have not stayed at any of them before. We have stayed at both the Venetian and Palazzo, but would love to try something new.

Ideally I can grab a room at the Cosmo (although it does not seem to come up as often... and then just stay the last night of my stay on marriott points)

Will resort fees be included in your room rate you win on priceline? Or will you have to pay additional upon check in?

Went up to $90 with no luck.... Dont' really want to go hire, as I can book directly for slightly more. Will keep trying as I have plenty of time.

Resort fees are additional and not included in your bid price.. .they're paid directly to the hotel.

For your $90 bidding, did you include both North and South Strip zones OR just the Strip South zone? Did you bid the complete 4 nite stay or only 8/21-8/24?

I only bid the south zone, I did not bid the north zone. I also only attempted the 3 nights 8/21-8/24.. I did not include the Friday night stay as I thought this would bump the overall price up.... and I have enough points for a pretty nice suite at the Cosmopolitan.

Nobody can say for certain, but i do think that you're within $5-$10 of a win... the question therefore is if it's worth the extra few dollars to secure this now OR do you prefer to hope for a few dollars cheaper, with the risk being that this could be the bottom and rates only move higher from here?

I'm seeing rates at 5* hotels in this zone a good $50+ more per nite than what you've already bid.

Definitely a nice result for this Vegas property. PRICELINE/HOTWIRE reservations are for regular/non-upgraded rooms - however, you can call the hotel to make requests.
