KdoubleT Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 Hi! I'm looking to book a 3* hotel (either Four Points or Radisson) in the Vancouver (Airport YVR) area from 05/09/12 to 05/19/12.Any suggestions on how to start (price/bidding strategy)? Thanks!
thereuare Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 Note that with PRICELINE you're not bidding on a specific hotel (nor even two specific hotels) as you can receive any in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you bid and there are at least five 'known' hotels in this zone at the 3* level and another handful above these at the 3.5* and 4* levels.Let us know your maximum bid for this stay and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. KdoubleT Posted April 22, 2012 Author Report Posted April 22, 2012 Okay. I understand that I cannot bid on specific hotels. I mentioned the two hotels to make sure that they were in the 3* category. The rankings for the hotels are different on PRICELINE and HOTWIRE. In addition, I haven't been able to find an accepted bid for Radisson, so I was wondering if it was still considered a 3*.How many rebid zones are there for a 3* hotel in the Vancouver (Airport YVR) area? I just did some research and found that White Rock was the only one. Is this accurate?Based on forums and the Priceline Maps, accepted bids for 3* Vancouver (Airport YVR) seem to be between $50 and $80. If possible, I'd like to stay in this range. However, maximum bid would be $100
thereuare Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 There is only one re-bid zone available at the 4* level.Select 3* YVR...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50If the above is rejected, i'd bid every 24 hours with the following price points:$53/$55... $58/$60... $63/$65... $68/$70Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
