Trying to (1) figure out which 4-Star hotel Hotwire lists as $281 in Midtown East, and (2) is this a good area for 1st time visitors/sightseeing?

This property matches multiple hotels, with the Alex, InterContinental Barclay, Omni Berkshire, Roosevelt Hotel, and W New York all having been seen with this amenity set. Any of these are possible, but for this one i believe the Omni is the most likely of the group, and that would be my best guess.
