Reisen Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Great little site you have here. I think I had known such sites existed previously, but never bothered until now. Maybe I'll stop by more often.First off, I just booked the W New York (on Lex) through Hotwire for $248 a night (I booked two rooms, 2 nights each). I wanted a W, and the site helped me confirm based on the amenities (Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa). I was torn between this, an SPG 50 rate at the Sheraton, or the W Downtown for $256 (also through Hotwire). I was also considering the new Conrad in Battery Park, and the Millenium Hilton. In the end, my wife liked the midtown location of the Lex hotel.I realized after winning that the Hotwire rate gives you the base room at the W New York, which is 150 sq ft with 1 queen. I considered cancelling (I'm a PRICELINE EXPRESS Member through Hotwire, put a couple of grand through them each month), but called the hotel directly, and upgraded to a larger room (with a king bed) for $35 per room, per night (so an extra $140 total), which I'll pay with Starpoints. One other thing to note was that my rate was $2 lower calling Hotwire Express versus using the website ($248 vs $250). So for a total of 4 nights, I saved $8 :D .
