thereuare Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.On HOTWIRE you can't "ask for" certain amenities and there is no bidding. From the hotels listed in the hot-wire listing, I don't see chevy chase pavilion embassy suites. I'm not familiar enough with the areas of DC. Is that Georgetown? If so, I don't find it on hot-wire for my dates listed. I did a search of all the boards and it has never been posted. Does that mean hot-wire typically does not sell rooms to this hotel? If I can't find what I am looking for, do they open up more hotels/rooms? How far in advance is the best time to look? Thank you.

The hotel lists on the board only contain hotels reported to the board, so while you could be the first to report a new hotel in this zone and it could be the one you're hoping for, it would seem to be a bit of a long shot that everything would just fall into place and it would be the hotel you were hoping for and it was a brand new hotel not yet reported to the board. meredithmom Posted April 24, 2012 Author Report Posted April 24, 2012 Hotwire currently has a 2.5 in Rockville-Gaithersburg. I don't see a 2.5 from this area on the board forum. Any ideas what it could be? We have been researching a Homewood Suites in the area with similar amenities and are curious if this one on Hotwire could be this hotel. Thanks for your help.
