First of all, I must say this is one of the best forums ever! I have been using this site for all of my travel bookings.

4*, TX - Dallas (Richardson), Hyatt Regency North Dallas

Date of travel: April 24-26th

Bid history: started at $51-(first bid was rejected), added other area (Plano East) that did not have 4* hotels, bid $55- (second bid was rejected) added other area (Plano West) that does not have 4* hotels and went much higher to $67 and got the winning bid. ;)

Room Subtotal: $134.00

Taxes & Fees: $27.32

Total: $161.32

I did want to mention that I did have a prior win for 4 nights (3 rooms) for a 3* hotel and I started my bid at $45, when my first bid was rejected, I noticed that it had automatically selected 3.5* and 4* hotels, so I started shaving off days in order to re-bid and after 3 unsuccessful bids and down to 1 day only I got a 4* hotel (Renaissance Dallas Richardson) for $55 (for only 1 night)! So, I figured I could add the remaining nights at the same price since they give you that option, unfortunately there were no available rooms :o . I ended up starting a new bid for the remainder of the 4 night stay (hoping to get the same hotel)and was awarded a 4* in a different hotel (Hyatt Regency North Dallas), this was the worst thing that has happened in my bidding history  - I read the forum on how to re-bid and select zones that do not have 4* hotels in order to re-bid. I should have read that first before modifying my dates and now getting stuck with 2 different hotels for a 4 night stay. Just a word to the wise . . . <_<

Welcome to BetterBidding! Thanks for the compliments and glad you're liking it here :)

I have been using this site for all of my travel bookings.

You could help make the site even better by sharing your wins with the board... this will help other users just the same way that you have been helped by those who posted before you ;).

I did want to mention that I did have a prior win for 4 nights (3 rooms) for a 3* hotel...

Can you add this win to the board as a NEW TOPIC so that others will be aware of the win when searching the topic titles on the board, the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins, and the date ranges in the Priceline Maps.

...when my first bid was rejected, I noticed that it had automatically selected 3.5* and 4* hotels...

The star rating you select is the minimum that you're willing to accept and PRICELINE always checks for higher rated hotels to see if they can upgrade you to a higher level hotel... since PRICELINE checked for these higher rated hotels on your previous bid, is why they're currently checkmarked.

So, I figured I could add the remaining nights at the same price since they give you that option...

Even when offered it's no guarantee you'll be accepted at that price. As well, you can only add the number of nites equal to or less than your original purchase... so win one nite --> you can only try to add one nite.... win two nites --> you can only try to add one/two nites, etc, etc.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Enjoy this leg of your trip.
