Halilolo Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 This is my first time to post in here.. hope somebody can help me with this simple question.I plan to go to las vegas for my graduation trip w/t parents n friend. 4 ppl,2 rooms for 5 or 4* hotelon north strip. After I saw many posting about '5* Las Vegas (Strip North Vicinity - Condo) Trump International Hotel Las Vegas', I'm cruious, is this for the Trump International Hotel's Studio room? If yes, is it possiable to have space for 4 ppl with seperate area?By the way, my staying dates is from May 26 to 30.My plan was:1) if the 4 or 5*'s/room(on north strip) is over than 70, I am thinking to book only from 26-28. For 28-30, i'll book somewhere with cheaper price(budget 40-50/night)2) if I can bid the Trump International Hotel around 120/night for 4 ppl, I will stay in there from 26-30. Any good suggestion?
thereuare Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages. If you're looking to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID your more likely split is going to be to do the solo Saturday nite and then the next 3 nites. I'm assuming you and your friend are over 18 years old, but please confirm your ages and we'll research your options and comment further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Halilolo Posted April 19, 2012 Author Report Posted April 19, 2012 Yes, we are over 18.If I want to book the Trumpt International hotel, the studio for 4 ppl, or one set with 2 rooms, what price should I bid for?
thereuare Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request (especially true in Vegas where most hotels charge extra for more than double occupancy, and at many of the higher end hotels that charge more for rooms with two beds). If this a risk you're willing to accept? If not, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc)Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Halilolo Posted April 20, 2012 Author Report Posted April 20, 2012 I tried 7 times to bid the hotels but failed them all.1. Strip souuth 5* $61 Dream.. Fail for sure2. South+North 5* $55 Fail3. south+North 5+4* $57 Fail4. South+North+Summerlin 5+4* 59 Fail...Any suggestions?I want to have 2 rooms with either north or south strip 4* within < $62/nightStaying time is from May26-May304ppl all over 21
thereuare Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 You are very lucky you didn't win a hotel as Summerlin is NOT a re-bid zone and you could have easily won a hotel in that zone! Re-bid zones are zones which only contain star levels lower than the star ratings you're bidding, and since Summerlin contains Resort class properties (which are thought of as 4.5* in the star rating hierarchy) it is not a re-bid zones since your 4* bid could be upgraded to a Resort class property. When bidding 4* in Vegas you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board (highly recommended) before proceeding.Since you have already unsuccessfully tried up to $59, i would try the following on your next round of bidding:Select 4* Strip North and Strip South...Bid $53, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $56, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $62Any questions feel free to ask. I suspect you'll likely need to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID and drop the Saturday nite for your bidding to have much of a chance to win a 4* hotel at $62 or under. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Halilolo Posted April 20, 2012 Author Report Posted April 20, 2012 I tried this morning again with the solutions provided.. but I failed them all. ....lol....The rebid zone I tried are Boulder Strip, Fremont, Henderson and Nellis.Maybe the time for my arriving is pretty popular so is hard for me to bid below than $62?Is there any other good suggestions??
thereuare Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 The rebid zone I tried are Boulder Strip, Fremont, Henderson and Nellis.Fremont St is NOT a re-bid zone. With your stay over a month away i would confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding or you will eventually end up in a zone you didn't intend. If you're still confused after reading Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, try this and post your findings:1) Use the PRICELINE search box on the upper right of this page, enter 'Las Vegas, NV' and your dates, and click "GO".2) List each zone that is offered in this region. 3) Next to each zone list the highest star rating offered in the zone. The way to determine the highest star rating offered in the zone is by selecting the first zone i the list, then scrolling down to see the highest star rating selectable (ie- not greyed out). NEXT UNcheck the selected zone, place a checkmark in the next zone, and repeat the process for each zone in the region. Each time you take note of the highest star rating in the zone, make sure that only ONE zone is selected above.4) post your findings and we'll take it from thereIf you don't follow the above just post back and we'll break it down further.Maybe the time for my arriving is pretty popular so is hard for me to bid below than $62?Your full 4 nite stay includes a Saturday nite, which makes a win at $62 or less not a very high probability bet.
