Priceline Hotel: Looking to book Westin Harbour Castle for Saturday

Okay so from what I gather, I can offer some price to Priceline, and they give me a random match for an unspecified hotel in the general region I choose? I want the Harbor Castle right near Yonge/Queen's Quay as ill be having a party at a nearby nightclub for a birthday. If anyone can give me a starting hint as to what exactly I can do to game the system and get a better price, I'm just very puzzled by this whole process. Sorry if this is redundant im sure people come here all the time clueless and you're getting tired of hearing it, but I'm not good with these computers and whatnot, so some guidance would be much appreciated.

You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.

Based upon the above let us know your thoughts and if you'd like to move forward, what the actual nite of your stay and what is your expected budget (before taxes and fees)?

Does it work on getting TWO rooms (the same kind) for either website? I am looking to book the rooms for this Saturday, April 21st just for a night until Sunday. In terms of budget, we want a pretty decent room but I am hoping the total cost with tax and everything is not more than 150, 120 would be more like it though. My first choice is the Westin Harbour Castle because it's down the road from the club, but I guess any nice hotel in that region would suffice. I'd be glad to book it through your links (guessing that's some kind of referral bonus?) just because this site is great and you are so helpful in personally dealing with things.

The process works the same for getting one room or multiple rooms. Note the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links on this page (upper left and right corners respectively). They both have "Rooms" whereby you can either leave the default of one, or select a higher number. Hotwire lets you book up to 6 rooms in a single transaction, whereas Priceline lets you book up to 9.

Before you commit to anything from either of them, do take a good look at their area (or zone) maps. The names may be the same or similar, but the boundaries can be different. You have to be willing to accept anywhere within the area.
