Pg Top Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 HiWe're a family of 4, and will visit New York from 5/26/2012 - 5/29/2012. I have read that PriceLine does not guarantee room with 2 beds, so look like HotWire would be a better choice??We plan to stay in Times Square and its surrounding area (walking distance). Hence I did a search on HotWire and the deal come up withHotel detailsLocation: Chelsea - Madison Square GardenStar rating: 4-starCheck-in date: Sat, May 26Check-out date: Tue, May 29Amenities: Free Internet, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet AccessPrice summaryHotel Rate per night: $211.00Nights: 3Rooms: 1Tax recovery charges& fees: $134.84 Subtotal: $767.84Trip total: $767.84Prices are in US Dollar (USD)--------My questions are:1) Is this a good deal?2) What hotel(s) would it likely be?3) I have selected 4 guests when I do a search, but the result say nothing about 4 guests (although price is higher than doing 2 guests). So if I select 4 guests, and do check out, does it mean that I will for sure get the 2 beds without calling the hotel or crossing my finger hoping it would be 2 beds?ThanksVincent
AaronJB Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)HOTWIRE should guarantee bedding for the entire party if more than 2 people are indicated. That is commonly 2 beds, but can be 1 + sofabed or other combination. This could be a possible match for the Doubletree Chelsea or Ramada New Yorker, but I would lean towards it being the latter. PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy/1 bed, and in NYC where rooms are often very small, there is definitely a risk of getting one bed and a room without space for a rollaway.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 To add to the above, on the HOTWIRE hotel page with all the hotel offers, look above the BLUE TAB near the top of their page ("more hotels" which shows their 'retail' listings) and it should show the dates you searched for as well as the number of rooms, nites, adults, and children. Also, your confirmation page (after purchase) should show the number of adults/children selected in the search, and HOTWIRE will have a record of it as well. Should you have any issues with the hotel not supplying accommodations for the number searched then show the hotel your confirmation, and if still an issue, call HOTWIRE and they will resolve with the hotel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. thereuare Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 The property above matches previous reports for the Crowne Plaza, Hilton Times Square and Millennium Broadway so any of these are likely. If i had to guess i would slightly favor the Millennium Broadway as being the most likely of the three (forllowed by the Crowne Plaza and then the Hilton), but you should at least be prepared for any of these. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
