Itabera Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Hi all,First time using priceline. What's the best strategy to get a good deal on a 4* or 5* central park south (midtown west is the second choice) hotel? Is there a way to preview what hotels are offering rooms for this time of the year? Thanks a lot
thereuare Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! With PRICELINE there is no 'preview' of what hotels have offered inventory for your specific dates. You can see the hotels that have been reported to the board at each star level in our Priceline Hotel List, but you need to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for.Let us know your expected budget (per nite before fees and taxes) and we'll further the discussion for this stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Itabera Posted April 19, 2012 Author Report Posted April 19, 2012 Hi!I am thinking about spending something around $180.
thereuare Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 PRICELINE does not offer 5* bidding in either of these zones... currently only the Times Square zone has 5* hotels. We can suggest a 4* strategy for you to try, but based upon current pricing i suspect that your $180 budget will not be enough for a 4* hotel in either of these zones. At the moment, i think the closest you will likely come to a 4* hotel is around $210-$235 in the MTE zone.Based upon the above let us know which zone(s), star rating, and budget you'd like to move forward with and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
