Edemp Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 We went round and round on areas and hotels . We needed a room for three people. We really wanted SOHO but everything decent was at least 450 with double beds. We won the Hotel on Hotwire which was rated 4.5 stars on hotwire although ranked 216 on Trip Advisor. Doesnt seem like more than a 3.5 star after reading reviews. Anyway got it for 287.00 a night for two nights .with taxes and fees total was close to $700.
Edemp Posted April 17, 2012 Author Report Posted April 17, 2012 Just checked the W website for a room with two double beds during the timewe will be in NYC . With taxes and fees around 450 a night. So we saved $200. Total for both nights.

Alanslegal80 Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 I love W Hotels, they're my favourite hotel group. I am also a Starwood Platinum member and try to stay in W Hotels wherever worldwide. You either love W's or you don't (sadly) ... it is aimed at a younger market and the crowds there tend to be of a trendier sort ie. hopefully me ;)Regardless the W Downtown is a near new property, less than two years old, and you'll love the design features of the property. If you like the W Downtown, then one day go and stay at the W Hong Kong, W Barcelona, W Bali Retreat Seminyak, W Koh Samui Retreat.... or in a few months, the new W Bangkok.
