DenverLogan Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Hummm...was trying for Disneyland and figured, based on Islandgal's post, that $59 would get me the Crowne Plaza. Rejected, so I bid $61 and added Newport/Huntington Beach for $61 and won the Sutton Place Hotel in Newport Beach. I gambled that $61 would not win me Newport (though it's sold for less than that months ago - this is peak season), but it did! On the Sutton Place website the cheapest room is $129. Orbitz has a $109 minimum. Hotel looks sharp, 5 miles from the beach, amidst lots of fun attractions. Cheaper than the Hotwire offerings, should be nice.
thereuare Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 You did have 'true' RE-BID ZONES available so i'm not sure why you took an unnecessary gamble. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read the previous link and feel free to ask any questions that you may have.As well, you now see why it is not a good idea to use somebody else's winning bid as a basis for your own when their dates are different than your own.At least it sounds as if you can adapt to this hotel and its location. Thanks for posting and enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
