Hotwire Hotel: 4.5* New York City (Times Square - Theater District) InterContinental Times Square

Our family will be in New York on 5/26 through 5/31. Really want to book 4* DoubleTree Suites by Hilton NYC - Time Square. We have 2 adults and 3 kids, therefore, really need 2 double beds and pullout sofa. Currently Hotwire is offering 4 1/2* for $259/night in Time Square Theater District. Do you think this will includes the DoubleTree Suites? Will I be able to get this with Priceline? I try bidding Priceline once, couple of years ago.

There is no way to guarantee a particular property via PRICELINE (and PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy/1 bed). The Doubletree Suites has appeared at times as a win on HOTWIRE, but not all that often. The 4.5* is not the Doubletree - I'm seeing a 4.5* in this zone with fitness, restaurant, internet and business, which is a possible match for the Intercontinental. In terms of a suite, the HOTWIRE listing would have to show "suite" as an amenity to guarantee an "all-suite" property.

It's certainly more of a basic property, but the Salisbury offers 1 king + sofabed suites for $248 regular rate on Expedia for these dates. The Affinia Manhattan also has a 2 bed studio suite for $257.

I'm also seeing a studio suite w/2 beds at the very well-reviewed Affinia 50 for $242 on Orbitz (use coupon code TRAVEL5 for 5% off to get that rate - make sure the correct rate is showing.)

Those would be suite or studio suite options in various Midtown areas. If you do not need a suite, we would be happy to suggest other options. However, I will note that I would definitely not expect 2 + sofabed, which is a rarity in New York City. Additionally if 2 + sofabed is an upgrade at the Doubletree (which I'm not seeing on HOTWIRE), that may not be available through discount services.

Thank you for the hotel recommendations. I just book 4 1/2* with your link to HOTWIRE, for our 5 nights stay and got InterContinental New York Times Square for $257/night. I missed the $233 deal by like 1 minute. Still happy with the booking. Can I call the hotel to confirm the 2 beds? Thanks again!
