I booked airline tickets on hotwire. I saved the print out of the purchase. Is this my electronic ticket? Is this what I take to the airport? Any help would be appreciated?

I booked flights to Puerto Rico using hotwire. I understand that they use electronic tickets. Do I bring the printout of my transaction as proof that I have a ticket?

Thanks,

Thanks for posting your winning airfare. It's helpful for other users to see what the current rates are for comparison.

Now on to your question:

Q: What is an electronic ticket and how do I use it?

A: An electronic ticket - more commonly referred to as an e-ticket - is stored in the airline's reservation system and therefore eliminates the need for a printed airline ticket. Since all of the ticketing information is stored electronically, you will only receive an email confirmation. This confirmation, sent to the email address you provide during registration, will contain the round-trip details of your flights.

When traveling, remember to bring a printout of the confirmation page (from our site) or a copy of your confirmation email. At the airport, you'll need to check in with the airline with a government issued photo ID (e.g., driver's license, passport) to receive your boarding pass. Many airlines will also allow you to check in online 24 hours prior to your departure to obtain a boarding pass. See the individual airline's website for details.
