Priceline Hotel: Bidding Advice

Hello!

I am in the process of planning a group trip to Yellowstone, Grand Teton & Glacier this Sept. We would like to try to obtain 4 hotel rooms in West Yellowstone on Sept 1, 2 hotel rooms in Bozeman on Sept 8 and 2 rooms again in Bozeman on Sept 13. I would like your advice on when to start bidding for these and any bidding strategies would also be appreciated.

I need 4 rooms for 7 people.

Current Holiday Inn pricing $208

Back up reservation $109/night+tax (Evergreen Motel)

I will post the other stays before the end of the week.

So when should I start to bid for these units?

It's never too early to begin bidding as long as you don't overbid, so i see no issue with starting now. For more on this subject see the related 'Bid Early or Close to Check-in' links in our PRICELINE FAQ regarding timing your bid.

Is the goal to beat the $208 rate at the Holiday Inn or to beat the $109 rate at your back-up hotel (which i'm assuming is not 3* or better rated) What is your maximum bid for this leg of your trip?
