douknownam Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 Looking for a 4* hotel in downtown Atlanta for 6/15-6/17. Will be there for a wedding at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown. Obviously looking to spend as little as possible, but I'm willing to go as high as $75/night if possible. Please let me know if you think this is being overly optimistic for the area and time frame. Just just tried without success by bidding 50, 52, 54 in the downtown area and added two non-4* regions. TIA
thereuare Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 Your $75 maximum bid is not outside of the realm of possibilities, but as you mentioned above, you only used TWO re-bid zones... when you actually have FIFTEEN re-bid zones when bidding 4* in this area. Are you familiar with how to determine your re-bid zones OR is there a reason you're not using them all and bidding higher at this point in time? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. douknownam Posted April 10, 2012 Author Report Posted April 10, 2012 With the abundant amount of re-bid opportunities, I started at $45 and incremented by $1/$2 with each bid. Took a while but got a room at one of the recommended hotels (for a wedding) for well under what I wanted to pay.Used the PRICELINE link. Thanks!
douknownam Posted April 10, 2012 Author Report Posted April 10, 2012 Being my second time using the bidding strategy, I was a little confused. Once you pointed that out, it was pretty clear. Ended up getting a 3.5* room in downtown ATL for $55/night---I posted the win separately. Thanks again!
