nasesco72 Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 Hi all,My first post - I am new to this bidding for hotelroom concept but here goes...I am looking at staying in hollywood 4* or higher from 19-May until 22-May (3nights)..Would prefer W Hollywood.. I believe hotwire has it for $229 per night under secret hotels.I would like to avoid Redbury hotel as its another 4* in this area.I am hoping to get a room for $140-160 range.Any ideas on the strategy or if my expectations are realistic?

nasesco72 Posted April 10, 2012 Author Report Posted April 10, 2012 Hello.. I done those steps mentioned
thereuare Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 I would like to avoid Redbury hotel as its another 4* in this area. The Redbury hotel has never been reported to the board thru PRICELINE's "Name Your Own Price" service, but it is a 4 star rated hotel thru their 'retail' service. When bidding on PRICELINE you can't bid on, or avoid a specific hotel in the zone, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. You'll either need to accept the risk of not receiving the Redbury hotel OR go with a HOTWIRE offer where, based upon the amenities and an other information provided, you can be reasonably assured of not receiving the property you're hoping to avoid.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 Please change the currency drop down menu on the top right of HOTWIRE's page to US Dollars (and if applicable the country to United States). Then continue to search HOTWIRE and post to the board in US Dollars so that rates are consistent and not subject to interpretation due to future currency fluctuation. Once you're ready to purchase simply change the drop down menu to whatever currency you'd like to use and complete your purchase. Finally - What is my best strategy - bid lower than those pricelines for the same area and star on priceline or wait closer to the date hoping hotwire price comes down? What is the room rate in US dollars (per nite before taxes and fees) for each of the above properties? Are you interested in either of these properties at the prices currently listed? What is your maximum bid price for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
