Priceline Hotel: Bid Failed - Sedona Resort

Trying to win one night in Sedona, a Wednesday. I first chose Sedona and a resort, with a bid of $56. Then added Flagstaff, and upped my bid to $58. Last, I added Belleview and upped the bid to $60, and this too was rejected. I see many people have won the Radisson Poco Diablo for around $56-58 per night, so I'm wondering why I didn't get a room? Maybe October is the busy season??

I'll probably try again in three days. Any suggestions for re-bids?

I think it's a combination of 2 things:

1) rates are a little higher than usual at the Radisson

2) it is still quite early before your stay

If you let us know your maximum bid and the zones you are willing to accept we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I'll wait a while to bid again, since the vacation is pretty far in the distance.

I would like to stay in Sedona, and the only properties Priceline offers in Sedona are resorts, and 1 and 2 star hotels. Because it has no 3 star hotels, I'd like to keep bidding for a resort. I guess my maximum bid for this would be $80-85. Since this is in October, what is a good time frame to bid?

I would bid as follows:

Select Resort Sedona...

Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $65.

Bid every 1-2 weeks for the next month. In the meantime book a fully cancellable reservation.
