Long time reader, first time poster!

I am curious of what the prevalence of getting Aria over Vdara is in the south strip 5 star category. The guaranteed amenities for this property 5* are pool, restaurant, gym, business and an 8+ rating. Median price is $194.

I am taking my parents to LV as a present for their 35th anniversary, and I know mom will be upset without slot machines to play if we ended up at Vdara!

Thanks for the help everyone.

PS. thought I would share that I got Wynn LV for $120 per night, 2 rooms for an upcoming trip on priceline before signing up for the board- April 24-26.

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Please post your prior Wynn win as a separate thread, and posting additional prior wins as separate threads would be greatly appreciated.

There is no way to guarantee a particular property when bidding on PRICELINE, or increasing the odds of a particular property. The Aria has been seen more lately, but there have been many instances where a particular property appears consistently for a time period, then another property suddenly starts appearing. Overall, going on expectations of wins based on recent results can lead to disappointment.

HOTWIRE, where one can make an educated guess based on recent results, is - while still a risk - a better bet if a particular amenity (casino, for example) is needed. One can also make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing on HOTWIRE based on information given.

What would be the desired budget per night for this stay?

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to star your purchases and searches.

My budget in the time frame would like to be around 100-125, I am paying for 2 rooms so the price rises exponentially! I will post the Wynn success right now in a second thread.

Just to ask, so its possible to get Aria on Priceline without the guarantee amenity of a casino showing?

Thanks

The way PRICELINE shows amenities differs in the way that HOTWIRE shows amenities...

PRICELINE is not showing the amenities for a specific hotel, they're showing amenities that are offered at every hotel in the zone at that star rating. So if all hotels in the zone had a Casino, the casino amenity would be listed... even if just one hotel does not have a casino, the casino amenity is not shown. Therefore, as long as the Vdara is a possible 5* hotel thru PRICELINE, the casino amenity will never be listed at the 5* level in this zone.

When HOTWIRE lists amenities it is hotel specific and therefore the information can be used to make an educated guess as to the property being offered.

Generally speaking, PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but if you're trying to target (or avoid) a specific property, or want to ensure certain amenities, then HOTWIRE is the better option.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

Hmm great knowledge to have. I didn't know thats how PRICELINE operated. Turns out my father may have to have surgery during this time period. So I play the waiting game for now. However shared my excellent priceline win in April on another thread. Thanks for the assistance, happy bidding everyone.
