Hi,

I've booked a room via Hotwire 5* North Strip for 4 people. It cost $164/night plus tax and fees.

The cost for 2 people would have been $111 at Trump (5* North Strip with kitchenette, smoke free) but for 3 or 4 people it was $164. I am trying to figure out if we are getting a studio or one bedroom because the $111 was a studio (their cheapest room). I asked the Trump concierge which room it was and it says it isn't guaranteed which room type on hotwire so they will give us what is available. Did we overpay for a studio with a pull out couch? We are hoping for the one bedroom with pull out couch because it is so much bigger and has an extra 1/2 bath.

I assume since it was the same price for 3 or 4 people that it wasn't a higher rate because of the number of people.

Any insights?

I am basically trying to ensure that they give us something better than the basic room since we are paying a premium on it. Also hotels.com has offered the basic studio suite (same hotel, 4 people, same nights) for less than the hotwire price that I paid but I'm not sure which room we have so I don't know if I can pester them about their price match guarantee or not. Is there a way to have them guarantee a better room?

Most Vegas hotels (especially at the high end) are now charging more for quad occupancy vs. double occupancy. If you search the Trump website and compare rates for these dates you'll see the price jump $50/nite when booking for double vs. quad occupancy.

If you must know before your arrival, i'd call the Trump and see if their studio rooms have sofa beds (i seem to recall that they may not). If they do, i'd expect a standard studio, although if they're not busy you may be able to sweet talk your way into a 2 bedded room by asking or try tipping at check-in if the upgrade is worthwhile to you.
