thereuare Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! Can you identify this hotel...The property above matches previous reports for the Holiday Inn 57th St so that would be my best guess for this one.Family of 4 with 2 kids under 10... I was hoping for something under $120 per night in Manhattan via priceline...PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. (this is considered especially risky in NYC since there are such a high percentage of hotels with only one bedded rooms (and often little/no space for a rollaway) and many hotels consider rooms with two beds an 'upgrade')Based upon the above let us know your thoughts of the HOTWIRE hotel offered (which does appear for the same price when searching 2adults/2children) and how you'd like to proceed, we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. tasban Posted April 7, 2012 Author Report Posted April 7, 2012 The property above matches previous reports for the Holiday Inn 57th St so that would be my best guess for this one.---Thanks! I notice that in reviews people say there are bedbugs at the Holiday Inn 57th. I looked on 'the bedbug registry' but it isn't listed. Is the registry reliable? Can you get a refund with hotwire or priceline if they give you a room with bedbugs?
thereuare Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 I can't comment on the accuracy of reports or reviews of bedbugs, but are the comments current... it's always possible that a hotel that once had an issue has corrected the situation. While many reviews/reports of bed bugs at any hotel are likely true, i suspect that some are also false... guests getting mosquito bites claiming to be bed bugs, a competing hotel starting a rumor, a guest looking for a refund/free stay in the future, etc, etc.If you're at a hotel and believe it has bed bugs, immediately talk to the hotel manager and get re-assigned to a different room and inspect the bed before accepting the new room. If you're claiming an issue after your stay each hotel will handle it differently, but as per the reasons above, most will not simply take your word for it and provide a refund, i would think you'd like need to see a doctor and/or provide photos as evidence. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
