Volasi Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I was looking for a 4 star hotel in CPS, DFD, ESB, MTE, MTW, SOHO and TS. My maximum bid was 180$. Since I had more than two months before the trip, I could be patient. I used this strategy:On march 26th, I started bidding at 130$, adding 5$ for each re-bid zone, up to 165$. No win.On march 29th, I started bidding at 135$, adding 5$ for each re-bid zone, up to 170$. No win.On april 1st, I started bidding at 140$, adding 5$ for each re-bidding zone, up to 175$. No win. Finally, today, april 4th, started at 145$, up to 180$. Got accepted at 180$.It's going to be my 5th visit to NYC, but the first time that I will stay downtown. The hotel seems nice. The only main drawback I see is that internet is 17$ per day. Oh well, I guess that's why God created coffee shops! Thanks to everyone who contributed to the message board. It was a great help.
Verbat Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Congrats. This is a great price for June in NY and a great hotel.I think that most of the hotels in NY charge for Internet access so it's nothing out of the ordinary.Enjoy your stay in NY.
