Hotwire Hotel: 5* North/South Strip 4/20 and 21/2012

Good evening!

We are 4 adults looking for a 5* on the strip on 4/20/21. We aren't picky as to which hotel, I suppose north strip would be nice since we do love Wynn, Venetian, Palazzo. But I would be interested in staying in the new 5*'s on south strip too. Can you book a room for 4 people on priceline/Hotwire or does it only allow 2 people with bed type unguaranteed?

Any help on where to start would be appreciated! I've been reading the forum for a bit and have a general idea but I know the experts are more apt to understand the process than I.

PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. Note that even when booking direct most of the 5* hotels in Vegas now charge more for rooms with two beds vs. one bedded rooms and/or charge more when booking for more than double occupancy, so i would at least expect to pay more directly to the hotel if they are willing to accommodate your request for a room with two beds and/or if you 'declare' quad occupancy.

If this is not a risk you're willing to accept, then HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc)

I think after understanding the difference between hotwire/priceline and what they guarantee it may be best to do hotwire and know that we will have 2 beds in whatever formation they see fit (futon/bed/couch in lobby...haha). I was looking at the hotwire list and we would also be happy with any 4.5* North or South strip. The rates on the actual hotel websites are pretty high that weekend - it looks like it will be a busy one! We are hoping around $200 per night if this is remotely possible. Thank you for any further information on how to proceed.

There is one that says South Area hotel for $276 and we could make something like that work but does South Area mean strip or could it be off strip?

Also: 4* Downtown Las Vegas area hotel shows up for $176 and I would be interested in that too. Would that appear to be Golden Nugget?

4* Downtown - likely Golden Nugget.

Thank you for all of the help. We ended up saving all of this money and staying with a friend in the city. $50 cab ride to the strip but saved overall. Thank you!
