I used the this site to search and bid for hotels in the NYC area. I really wanted to stay in Manhattan and didn't have a preference except I didn't want to be in the financial area or North of Central Park. I started my Bid at $120, in Chelsea for a 3.5 star. I increased my bid by $5 adding different zones. Once my bid at $170 for a 3.5 was declined, I added 3 Stars and lowered my bid to $155, and it was accepted.
