socalisbest Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Hi...newbie here, just signed up and this is my first post. I'm seeking to stay at Wynn or Encore between 4/13/12-4/15/12. On Priceline, Wynn shows an average of $264/night while Encore is at $319. The hotel list here shows Wynn, Palazzo and Venetian as Priceline options. I'm fine using either Priceline or Hotwire. I can do either a 1 bed King or 2 bed Queen room. 1. Is there a way to specifically target Wynn or Encore? 2. What would an acceptable bid be that weekend?
AaronJB Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. There is no way to target/guarantee a particular hotel on PRICELINE. If bidding for a 5* in North Strip (for example), one has to be willing to accept any 5* in the zone. With HOTWIRE, one can make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing based upon the information given, but there's only one listing at each star rating in each zone, and the one offered may not be the one you're looking for.Are you only interested in the Wynn/Encore (the latter has not been seen as a win on the board in quite some time.)?There is also no way to guarantee a particular bed type.
socalisbest Posted April 1, 2012 Author Report Posted April 1, 2012 Thanks for your response! I'm definitely fine w/ either bed type situation. I'm mostly interested in Wynn or Encore then Palazzo and Venetian. I'm not interested in Trump. So, with Priceline, the 5*'s in the zone would be Trump (no casino), Wynn, Encore, Palazzo or Venetian, right? Where do you think bidding should be? Then with Hotwire, I have one option in the north zone at $159. I am guessing it's Trump b/c it has a kitchenette and the description/amenities don't list a casino. Would you agree?
AaronJB Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 The Trump has been reported last in the separate Strip North Condo zone. As for 5* North, an appropriate starting bid would be $125 and then moving higher by $5's.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

socalisbest Posted April 2, 2012 Author Report Posted April 2, 2012 You're talking about Trump being in the Strip North Condo Zone on Priceline, right? Would you say that it's the Trump described on HOTWIRE since it references a kitchenette?
thereuare Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 Note that PRICELINE no longer users a 'Strip North Condo zone... the zones have been renamed:Las Vegas Strip NorthLas Vegas Strip Vicinity North (this is the previous 'Condo' zone)For help with the property you're currently seeing on HOTWIRE, please include the full list of amenities associated with this property. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks.
