rihc55 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Hey All --I'm planning to be in Ottawa from June 14th to June 18th. I want to stay in one of the 4* hotels. Looking at past bidding, i started bidding at about $95. I've gone all the way up to $145 with no luck. Does anyone know if there's something going on there during this time? I'm not sure what the problem is.Thanks for any advice!
AaronJB Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Sorry to hear that your bids haven't been accepted. :(These appear to be busier dates in the area (possibly a convention?) What would your desired max budget per night?Sharing any prior wins would be greatly appreciated.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
rihc55 Posted March 30, 2012 Author Report Posted March 30, 2012 Hi AaronJB --That's exactly what I was wondering about.. if anyone know of events around that time that would be causing this. My max bid would probably be like $150 because I can book through a hotels' website for ~$20 more with the added flexibility of room options.I've never had any wins before because this is my first time attempting to use priceline.I'll definitely use the site's referral links when searching again.
thereuare Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Not sure how big of a draw it is, but i did find a Franco Ontarian Festival taking place over your dates (although it does appear to be a sizable event), as well as Dance competition. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. rihc55 Posted June 16, 2012 Author Report Posted June 16, 2012 Just FYI -- i ended up staying at the Courtyard Marriott East at 179, 159, 159 and 169 a night respectively for four nights.
thereuare Posted June 16, 2012 Report Posted June 16, 2012 Thanks for 'closing' this thread. Was the above thru bidding on PRICELINE, a HOTWIRE purchase, or direct with the hotel or thru some other 'retail' purchase where you knew the hotel name ahead of time? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
