I have read the messages and have searched the boards but do not see any reference to what this hotel may be. Any help would be greatly appreciated

There really aren't very many reports yet for IST. If you go ahead with this one, you'll probably get to add a new hotel to the Betterbidding list.

If you zoom in on the area, you will see a metro line runs right down the middle of it. About a 5 minute ride will get you to the Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. A little further will get you to the Spice Market and ferries to Asia. The metros are cheap, frequent, and a very good way to move all over town. There even is good metro transport from the airport.

I saw the rate was $98 for your dates. I really wouldn't hesitate. My son and I stayed at a 4* in nearby Sultanahmet. Amazing trip, and the hotel was really very nice.

From watching IST Hotwire hotels for several months, I know the deals come and go fairly frequently. If you like what you see, don't hesitate. On the other hand, if it is gone before you decide, be patient. Any of the first 5 areas on Hotwire - currently A through E - are really plenty central and have much of interest.
