sam2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Hello,I am not too sure about the rebid zones and hence thought of asking the experts before I make some silly mistakes. I am looking for a 4* hotel in the downtown area. I am thinking that my rebid zones can beFranklin Park areaHyde ParkLincoln parkmidway airport north and skokieAm I thinking correctly? Also during my rebids, I can just add one of the above areas one at a time and rebid, right? Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!Yes, you have your re-bid zones correct, but you also have ONE more re-bid zones when bidding 4* in the Chicago area (for a total of SIX re-bid zones). See Priceline Re-Bidding Explained for the proper way to determine your re-bid zones and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your additional re-bid zones with the board. Is the Loop the only zone you're willing to accept OR is the NMA-River North zone acceptable as well? If you confirm which zone(s) you're willing to bid and your maximum bid, we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. sam2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Posted March 29, 2012 Thanks for your reply. Well I guess NMA-River North should also work. I have no idea what is a good bid for that day.
AaronJB Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 What would be your desired max bid for the night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
sam2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Posted March 29, 2012 seems like people are getting prices in the range of 65-90. i guess 100 would be my max.
thereuare Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Are you able to determine your SIXTH re-bid zone? sam2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Report Posted April 3, 2012 Thank you. thats good to know. Can you please tell me how do I go from the hotel to ohare airport? I mean is there any alternative to cabs?
AaronJB Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 From O'Hare you'd take the Blue Line CTA from the station at O'Hare to the Clark station downtown, then either walk the remainder or take a very short cab ride. I believe fare is $2.25. A cab ride from O'Hare is substantially more expensive.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
sam2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Report Posted April 3, 2012 thanks, so same thing from union station or my hotel (hyatt regency) to ohare? take the cta from clark staion?
AaronJB Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 Union Station is for Metra and Amtrak trains. The CTA Blue Line trains, which you can get at the Clark station are what you need to get to/from O'Hare.
