You bid all those zones at both the 4* and 5* levels? Are you willing to pay more to stay in your first choice of zone vs. a zone further down the list OR is your goal the least expensive hotel in any of the zones listed? aloly Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Posted March 29, 2012 Did you include all the zones above in your previous bidding? yes, I did all of themYou bid all those zones at both the 4* and 5* levels? yes, I did . but I did several attempts in the same day, is it acceptable ? Or should I do one order every day ? Are you willing to pay more to stay in your first choice of zone vs. a zone further down the list OR is your goal the least expensive hotel in any of the zones listed? What is your maximum bid for this trip?my main purpose to take the least expensive hotel in any of the zones. i prefer the price will not be more than $120 .
thereuare Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 i prefer the price will not be more than $120.You have already bid up to $155 and were not successful, so to win at $120 or less doesn't seem like a high probability bet at this time. You could:-wait it out and hope for lower prices in the weeks ahead-include other nearby zone-lower your star rating-SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BIDLet us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. aloly Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Posted March 29, 2012 i will try again next week. and i will come back to tell you what happen with me thank you
Romelle Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 aloly,I took a look at your dates on Hotwire. There was an interesting pattern.4* offered when requesting all 7 days:Montparnasse $192 Montmartre - Moulin Rouge $1584* offered when checking 1 day at a time:Montparnasse....Montmartre-MR...LaDefense27 $213 $180 n/a 28 $198 $158 n/a29 $129 $141 $7830 $129 $141 $781 $129 $141 $782 $196 $158 n/a3 $196 $180 n/aAs you can see, there is a definite drop in rates for 29,30,1.Thereuare mentioned "splitting your bid". If you are willing to risk having to move, it looks like you could bid your first 2 days, your middle 3 days, and your last 2 days separately. You may have a successful bid at a lower rate for those middle 3 days, and that would let you raise your budget for the remaining days. While you may not be interested in an area as far out as La Defense, I listed it because of the unusually low rate offered. In any case, to find the best deal, definitely consider as many areas as work for you. If you are arriving and departing by air, another thing to consider could be an airport hotel for your first and/or last days. Sometimes they have lower rates, and actually are very convenient for a late arrival and/or an early departure. Paris is indeed expensive, but worth it in my opinion.Romelle
aloly Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Posted March 29, 2012 hi , your data is very useful, but i will travel with my family , so it is very hard to transport with them from hotel to anther! , but i have a question, i note the area which called " La Defense " is very cheap ! so i want take a advantage and stay there all days . could you provide me the price of all days there . because you just mention the middle days .thank you pro !
Romelle Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Hotwire did not have any La Defense offering when all 7 days was used. I am sorry. I was surprised at the low number also. At the moment, it is only available the 3 days I noted.Hotwire does change its offerings often though. You could keep checking it via the HOTWIRE link above on the left hand side. For other cities, I've seen deals come for a while, disappear, and then come back again. But if you would consider the La Defense area, you could also bid it on Priceline. You can see on either the Priceline or Hotwire maps just how far out it is, but I've stayed there and it only adds about 10 - 15 minutes to a Metro ride. There are some other further out areas people sometimes bid and win on Priceline. That is why I suggested you consider as many areas as possible. Romelle
