jesscat Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 I am really hoping to get the Wynn for April 5 & 6 (We are vegan and find the on site options appealing). I know nothing is guaranteed, but I'd like some advice!Hotwire seems to be offering the Trump for $83. I'm guessing this because of the kitchenette and no casino. I've actually stayed at the Trump and was less than impressed. In fact I do NOT want to stay there. Weirdly earlier today the (seemingly) same hotel was offered for $103, with $163 crossed out(as the base price). I found this confusing because the NAMED deals they offered put trump at $118 and Wynn at $163. Is this all just irrelevant and I'm looking too much into it?Am I better off trying some bids with Priceline?
AaronJB Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)I would not place emphasis on the crossed-out full price showing on HOTWIRE as an indicator of what the property may be. The amenity set given would be a match for the Trump. In terms of PRICELINE, the Trump has been previously seen in the Strip North Condo zone, which is a separate zone. However, the Wynn is not the only 5* in the Strip North zone, and there is no way to ensure the Wynn when bidding.Would you be willing to possibly risk getting other hotels than the Wynn?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
jesscat Posted March 28, 2012 Author Report Posted March 28, 2012 We are definitely willing to go somewhere other than Wynn, but we pretty much DEFINITELY don't want to end up at the Trump. Priceline seems like the safer choice in this case then?
thereuare Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 You should be able to avoid the Trump by not bidding the Strip North Vicinity zone OR by choosing a HOTWIRE offer that does show a Casino amenity. Is the Strip South zone also acceptable or do you want to only bid the North zone? What is your maximum bid for this trip?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. jesscat Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Posted March 29, 2012 Strip south would be okay, though north is preferable. Not really sure. $150/night? We are pretty flexible, just want the best deal and accommodations possible. Thanks for all the help!
thereuare Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Strip south would be okay, though north is preferable... just want the best deal and accommodations possible. At the 5* level the Strip South zone is usually cheaper than the Strip North zone, but it's up to you if you want to only bid the North zone OR include both zone and have PRICELINE assign whichever is available for the lower price.Let us know what you decide regarding the zones and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. jesscat Posted April 2, 2012 Author Report Posted April 2, 2012 Will be making final decisions/bids today so will let you know! Couple of things though:Priceline lists a strip north and strip vicinity north but only a strip vicinity south. Is this still what I should include? Also, if we decide to go 4*, what's an appropriate starting bid?Thank you!
jesscat Posted April 2, 2012 Author Report Posted April 2, 2012 Just wanted to report that I booked the Wynn on priceline for $100 a night! Thanks for all the help!
