Tmschmelzer Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Does anyone else think it is an outrage that Hotel Angeleno has been elevated to a 4 star hotel in the Century city Westwood region of LA? I do a lot of bidding in this region. Used to end up with eitherIntercontinental or Hyatt century Plaza in the neighborhood of 120-150/night. Sometimes, Hotel Palomar,Still a step below IMO but at least arguable. Angeleno? This place is a renovated Holiday Inn (true). And directly on the 405. I think it really, really sucks that Priceline is manipulating the star system to direct Business to certain hotels. Whereas I used to be confident on bidding on a 4 STAR hotel in CC, now IRisk a renovated holiday inn on the 405. I invite the opinions of those who have also stayed in thisRegion.

If you're not happy with a potential hotel in a given zone then use HOTWIRE where you have more of an ability to target/avoid a specific hotel in the zone. I'm not familiar with this property, but both Orbitz and Travelocity rate this property 4*, while Expedia gives it 3.5*, so the 4* rating is probably not that far off the mark. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. It would be appreciated if you share your future wins with the board.
