cool16202003 Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Hi everyone! I booked a flight for 2 to Vegas the other night on Travelocity for $391. Awesome deal! The dates are 6/30-7/5. 6 days, 5 nights. I'm now looking for a nice hotel. I'd like a 5* for $100 or less, but I don't think that's possible. The lowest average I see is $125-$130. I know those are low prices, but not low enough for me! The prices for 4* average $72-$115. So now I'm thinking that I'll do 4* for 6/30-7/3 (3 nights) and 5* for 7/3-7/5 (2 nights). What should my bids be? I don't want anything off the strip or anything that requires a walk to the strip. HAS to be ON the strip! I also don't want Trump or Tropicana. Any help is appreciated! :]
thereuare Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 I'd like a 5* for $100 or less, but I don't think that's possible.I do think you have a chance at a 5* hotel on the Strip at $100 or less for your complete stay, did you want to try for the complete stay first OR do you prefer to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. cool16202003 Posted March 28, 2012 Author Report Posted March 28, 2012 I think I'd like to split it. I'd like to shoot for Planet Hollywood for 6/30-7/3 and Wynn for 7/3-7/5. I'm able to get PH for $85 and Wynn for $116 through promos. You think I can do better with PRICELINE?
thereuare Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 It depends upon how you define 'better'...You can't bid specifically on the two hotels above, you'll need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose.I think you can get a 5* hotel on the strip for ~$105 for your complete stay, and imo this would be considered 'better' since you then wouldn't need to change hotels during your stay, and the extra $10/nite would be worth it to me to not have to change hotels and stay at a higher rated hotel (than the portion of your stay at a 4* property)... but for some SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID and keeping the extra money in their pocket would be the better deal. Ultimately it comes down to how much you want the above mentioned properties vs. being willing to accept any hotel in the zone(s).Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.
