htfaf Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Hi,I'm trying to bid on 10/17 - 10/22 in Brooklyn. 3, 3.5, 4 star options. All have weight room, and biz center. 3.5 and 4 have restaurants and pools, 3 star does not. The pool factor seems like it should narrow things down in New york...any ideaS?

thereuare Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 You can see all hotels reported to the board in this area in our Priceline Hotel List.Note that when PRICELINE shows amenities it's in a different fashion then when HOTWIRE does... with HOTWIRE they're offering a specific hotel that has already been chosen based upon your search criteria, with PRICELINE no availability has been checked for your dates, the amenities shown are amenities that are offered at each hotel of that star rating. So for example, if there are FIVE 4* hotels in a zone and all five of them offer a Pool, then PRICELINE will show the pool as a 'guaranteed amenity' since all hotels of that star rating have that amenities; if only 4 out of 5 of the 4* hotels in the zone had a pool, then the Pool amenity would not be listed since it's unknown at this point which hotel you would receive, and there is a hotel in the zone which offers the possibility of no pool. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and how we can be of further help. htfaf Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 Oh, ok, thanks. That helps. I would love either the aloft, marriot b. bridge, or bklyn sheraton. I think I'll stay away from 3-star...if it were aloft i guess it'd be a guaranteed pool amenity. That's the only bklyn 3 star i see on the list so there must be some new ones. I saw union hotel on the hotwire list and i'm nervous that might be one. lots of really bad reviews for them out there. Not seeing much recent bidding history for brooklyn. Any advice on where to start?

htfaf Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 I'd like to stay under $150. Want to stay in Brooklyn.
thereuare Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Are you willing to pay more for a 4* property vs. a 3.5* property OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this trip? Please confirm and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow... and please re-click each of the following PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.Thanks. htfaf Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 I'm willing yes, but not too much over $150. $170 would probably be my absolute max
thereuare Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 I'll try to rephrase... Did you first want to try for a 4* hotel in Brooklyn with a $150 limit OR did you want to try for a possibly less expensive 3.5* property?... and please re-click each of the following PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.2x Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
htfaf Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Posted March 29, 2012 Oh,my first choice would be a 3.5 star for as litle as I could spend, but if the 4 star was a small step up $ wise, then I'd of course be interested
