thefeebster Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Hello first post!I am looking for a hotel in DT Montreal, i actually really want to stay in Le Westin and this one sort of fit the description. Just wanted to know what my odds are that it is Le Westin and what other hotels I might have a chance at getting. Looking at a 4 day stay May 15 to 19. 4*This Hotel features the following amenities:Smoke Free Rooms Guest rooms at this hotel are always smoke-free.Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply.Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary.Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply.High-Speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.Spa Services Guests have access to a spa facility or spa services; an extra charge typically applies.85% recommended. Any help would be great!

thefeebster Posted March 8, 2012 Author Report Posted March 8, 2012 I have clicked. Does the price fluctuate by the hour? Went from 145 to 136! Thanks for any help in iding the hotel.
thereuare Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 A property with this exact amenity set has not yet been reported to the board. A new amenity set for the Hotel Omni Mont-Royal would be my guess, but i'm far from certain. Since this an multi-nite stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. thefeebster Posted March 25, 2012 Author Report Posted March 25, 2012 Ultimately i preferred Le Westin and was crossing my fingers for it. But I'm pretty satisfied with what i got, compared to the options on Hotwire/checking hotels.com every day... Seems like a fair but not amazingly great deal. I started at $65, had no luck until the $100s. At $102, was offered a counter at $121. Rejected and bid again, $105. Rejected, so bid $108 and got this one. I'm thinking that last night drove the price up a bit, through my research, this day generally was more expensive than the previous 3 or was at regular price. I used the betterbidding PRICELINE links! Thanks for the help.

thefeebster Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 So I cancelled this reservation... decided to stay one less day in Montreal and all they could do was give me the cancellation fee ($25), which i am more than fine with. But now i must rebook with them. So i am hoping to plan my strategy a bit better this time. Currently, I am tempted by the sale price of Sofitel for $153/night. But also still contemplating bidding again which i think will be lower than $108 as I am forgoing the most expensive day (Friday). Any advice?
AaronJB Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Sorry to hear that you had to cancel the reservation. :(Please start a new thread for the new booking and we would be more than happy to help.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thefeebster Posted April 11, 2012 Author Report Posted April 11, 2012 Thought i would update this... I have been bidding for days consistently since cancelling.. So i'll share some bid history. Wanted to focus on Downtown this time. Went from $70 to $110 with absolutely nothing. No counters, just rejected each time. So i got desperate and tried Convention center, same thing. No luck at all. Last week, i started at $105 again and would get a counter bid of $135. Rejected that of course, bid up to $110 that night. Nothing. Next night, i bid $108 to start, got the same counter bid and rejected again. I went up to $114 that night, still rejected. Next night, went up to $118, rejected. At this point, i simply did not want to go any further. Took a break and have just been perusing through the normal priceline prices. Le Centre Sheraton showed up as %50 off my dates 05-15 to 05-18 for $109. So to avoid the hassle of bidding and uncertainty, i booked that as its less than what i was bidding anyways for the same area. Hopefully the refund process is smooth sailing.
