Probably booking through Expedia or hotwire -- need some good reccomendations

Right now, best deal on hotwire looks like:

4 Star Capitol Hill - National Mall area hotel 0.2-1.5 mi

with Amenities: Fitness Center, Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access

$166 (regular $272)

or

should I wait until we get closer to our travel date to score a better deal? I have never traveled using these sealed hotel names before. Considering the length of stay, do not want to end up with hotels that are booked -- esp near cherry blommon season

racking my brain at multiple travel sites for the last two days as I am as frugal as they come and can't stand finding out I paid more than I needed to : )

If you scroll over "see all" on the HOTWIRE listing, do additional amenities appear beyond the ones listed above?

The FAQ discusses purchase timing in detail, but with the cherry blossom season and nicer weather, I'm guessing rates will stay on the high side.

Thanks for your help -- I did try to bid a few times on Priceline with no luck

However, decided to go with the Omni Shoreham at only $140 a night-- IF I booked for my entire stay -- not booking full stay would have cost over $200 a night, so, I am happy

I would have preferred to stay closer to Smithsonian, but from what I understand, everyone rides the Metro EVERYWHERE in DC

Thanks! I actually booked through Expedia as they were offering a $100 Mastercard with purchase

I did not use the no-name feature for this hotel -- although @ $140 a night, hotel was non-refundable
