Sara B Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 I am looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel on the strip for one night - 4/14/12. Im not sure what price range I should start/stop bidding at. I would like the lowest price possible as this is a last minute trip that I haven't saved much for. Please help guide me in the right direction. Thank you :)
AaronJB Posted March 24, 2012 Report Posted March 24, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Would you be interested in both North and South Strip? What would be your desired max bid per night for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Sara B Posted March 24, 2012 Author Report Posted March 24, 2012 I'm interested in north or south strip but prefer north. I'd really like to shoot for $130. Do you think that's realistic?
thereuare Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. At current rates i think a 5* hotel at $130 or under will be difficult, at the moment i'd guess you're looking more realistically at the $140-$165 range.Do you want to try first try for a 5* up to your limit in the North zone, OR does budget prevail and the least expensive in either zone is your ultimate objective? Do you want to keep your maximum bid at $130 or increase it based upon our expected range above? (we will of course start lower and work our way up)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Sara B Posted March 25, 2012 Author Report Posted March 25, 2012 Realistically, I'd like $130 to be the max. Thanks for assisting. I'm very appreciative.

Sara B Posted March 25, 2012 Author Report Posted March 25, 2012 Budget prevails and I'd like the least expensive in either zone. Thanks!
thereuare Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 I don't think $130 will likely be enough for 5* for this nite, but to give it a try:When bidding 5* in Las Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select Strip South and Strip North...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected and you then want to try for a 4* property, let us know if both zones are still acceptable and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Sara B Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 I tried all the combos and rebid through $130 but it was a no go. Looks like I'll move on to try a 4 star. please let me know your suggestion of bids. Thanks!

Sara B Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Posted March 29, 2012 Thank you for your help! I tried all of the above scenarios with no luck. I ended up rebidding again from $130 to $165 (using $5 increments). I ended up getting Monte Carlo (4* South) for $165. Based on the weekend I'm going and the prevailing rates, I'm satisfied with the outcome. Thank you for your help and I will continue to access PRICELINE and HOTWIRE through your links :)
