boumbo Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 I will be traveling to New york in beginning of June for 3 nights. my dates are flexible as long as it is first/second week of june.I would like to stay in a place that is walking distance from times square(15-30 mins) walk is acceptable. Any help on that? My budget is around 100-150 a night. is that reasonable? What will be my bidding strategy? Thanks :)
Verbat Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Hi boumbo and welcome,June is usually a busy season in NY, now it depends on if you want a 4* hotel or something lower.Areas with walking distance from times square will have to be: Midtown East, Midtown West, Times Square - Theatre District, Central Park South and Hell's Kitchen. Other areas can be risky because you can not be sure which hotel you get and where it will be and it can be farther away. For a 4* hotel i am not sure if you will be able to get a $100 or a $150 hotel in those areas, lowering your rating a bit will probably do the job.
boumbo Posted March 23, 2012 Author Report Posted March 23, 2012 I am prepared to go 3.5*.. what is the maximum should i bid? I will bid for the areas you wrote above... Please advise of the starting bid i should start. i am newbie in PRICELINE. I have read FAQ here but i want to make sure i am going the right thing.
Verbat Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 First i would suggest reading Priceline Re-Bidding Explained that will provide you some help with bidding. Now i would suggest starting from $100 and going up, use both 4* and 3.5* when bidding.Bidding process can take time, by time i mean days and maybe even weeks. You must be patience with this.
