camnel Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 This is the first time trying to get a discounted room...I would really like to get the Venetien around $99-110 for July 31 thru August 4....what would be the best route to do this?
camnel Posted July 8, 2005 Author Report Posted July 8, 2005 I guess I also need to make sure that if they dont have rooms with 2 queens does the couch have a pullout bed? thanks so much for the help!
thereuare Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Yes, the couches at the Venetian pull-out.However, i don't believe that the $100 rate is going to be avialable for your complete stay.. are you willing to SPLIT YOUR BID? camnel Posted July 8, 2005 Author Report Posted July 8, 2005 I talked to my group (there is four of us) and as long as the average rate doesn
thereuare Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Changing hotels mid-stay is a personaly preference... there are some that will do it if they can save $10; others won't do it even if they can save $50. I imagine age, budget, etc. all come into play as well. The Venetian is a great, high class, hotel.... but there are better pool areas in Vegas (like the MIRAGE and the MONTE CARLO)If it were me traveling i would book the Venetian for as many nites as i could at a cheap rate and then be willing to change properties for the best deal on the balance of the nites. Staying at the V is an 'experience', but i don't know if i would spend $200+/nite for any nite there when there are other good properties for half as much... it's all about value (for me). Keep in mind that a room with 2 beds at the Venetian usually comes with an additional $15/nite charge. So let us know what you want to do as far as splitting the stay and we'll advise accordingly... also check out our Las Vegas Hotel Rates checker for the MGM Mirage Branded Properties. camnel Posted July 9, 2005 Author Report Posted July 9, 2005 Thank you so much for your help! I decided to go ahead and do a splitVenetian I booked through Easy Click Travel...It gave the option to pick how many beds so I hope this means I will get 2 beds....7/31-8/2 for $108 ....and then I went through the site you suggested "Las Vegas Hotel Rates Checker" to get the Mirage..... 8/2-8/4 for about $115/night....Do you think I went about this in most cost effective way? Thanks again for your advice and for all the work you do on this site!
thereuare Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Well done...I think you went about i in the right manner. If Priceline has the Venetian at $99 it usually costs about $1-$2 less than booking thru EasyClickTravel (ECT doesn't charge a booking fee, that is the reason why a $9 difference only become $1-$2), but since you say that EasyClickTravel allowed you to choose two beds during the check-out process, it is clearly the way to go. Please let us know upon your return if you were given a room with two beds and if there was no additional charge.I think you have two very nice hotels. The Mirage was my first Vegas experience so i'm somewhat partial to it over similarly rated hotels, their pool area is great!Have a great time and good luck in Vegas.
