starbuck1105 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Hyatt Regency Buffalo3.5 stars on HotwireAmenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business CenterPrice: $64 per room, per night (booked two rooms)Date of stay: June 17, 2005Had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. Met my mother in Buffalo while a friend of hers was having surgery. Booked the hotel as a special treat for her (she doesn't have a lot of disposable income and would otherwise have been looking at staying at a 2 star dump near the hospital). Had stayed at the Hyatt before with good success, but this time, we were dumped into a pair of lousy rooms in what felt like the "outskirts" of the hotel property (about as far away from elevators and vending/ice machines as you can get).My mother's room featured a full-size bed instead of a king size bed as requested. My room had a king sized bed, but the furniture was mismatched in both rooms. It appeared that several pieces of furniture had been removed from my room recently, as you could see where they had been sitting on the carpet and the room was sparsely furnished. There was a terrible odor of mildew in the room --- determined that this was coming from the carpets, which were apparently cleaned recently, but not dried very well.Complained to management. They were not sympathetic, and in fact hardly seemed to be interested. Made me feel like a 2nd rate citizen. I won't stay there again.
