woggy987 Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Hi all,I've been trying to bid for a 4* hotel in the Downtown Vancouver area. Dates are Sat, May 19th to Fri, May 25th (6 nights), for 2 rooms. This is for a conference happening in the Convention Centre.I have bid 3 times - I'm up to $105 now, but still have not been successful. What do you guys suggest I should bid up to? Also, are there any 3* hotels in Downtown Vancouver -- if there are not... then I can check that box for a free re-bid, correct? Thanks for your help. I'm relatively new to Priceline so I would appreciate any of your thoughts and advice!

velvetduke Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Hi there, I go to Canada frequently and have had little difficulty booking under $100. I'd advise if you're already over $105 that you try and use Hotwire instead of Priceline. You can instantly select $100 4* hotels, rather than bid. Also I'd recommend staying in Vancouver YVR (Richmond). It's a very fast easy ride using the Skytrain into town. There is currently only one 4* hotel in Richmond, which is the Westin Wall Centre.Good Luck!
Ivan Teixeira Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 I'm also bidding for Vancouver Downtown from May 16 to May 21, went up to $110 for 4* with no sucess. I was wondering if threre was any conference in this period of time, wich you now confirmed. I'm frustated since I saw so many people here reporting 4* for less than $100. I'll keep trying but I think I should go for 3,5* or 3* now ...
woggy987 Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 Yes, there's a big scientific conference going on. Do you know if there are any 3.5* or 3* hotels in the Vancouver Downtown priceline bidding area?
