GroovyGeek Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Did a search, tried reading the (very brief) FAQ, did not find an answer to what seems would be a common question - if I specify 3 adults when making a reservation with Hotwire am I guaranteed a room with the appropriate number of beds - AT LEAST two queens? The last thing I want is to end up with 3 adults and a reservation for a room with a single king bed :-)
crito Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 You are guaranteed bedding for three people. It could be a queen plus a small bed (a pull-out couch, say). And as you probably know, lots of hotels call a double bed a 'queen'. But they aren't allowed to give you just a king.
thereuare Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 I will add that the above is 99.99% correct. However, in very rare instances (i can recall maybe 3-5 times) i have heard a hotel stating that a king bed is appropriate for three people. This is so rate that i personally wouldn't see it as too much of a risk, but i would comparing searching HOTWIRE for 3people vs. 4people (using a 'child' at the 4th person since that often does not increase the price) and if the price is the same i would book for quad occupancy instead of triple occupancy since it would virtually eliminate any issue of receiving only one bed (although the possibility of a rollaway brought into the room, a pullout sofabed, etc. is still a possibility)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
