We're actually at a timeshare near Cable Beach for the week - want to upgrade to something for end of our stay (4-5 days) with better pool and beach access. Visited the Sheraton and Wyndham on Cable Beach - very nice pools and beach with lot of space and chairs - looks like either are nice, but I know you have to be prepared to pay these 'daily resort fees' on top of the winning price (Wyndham is $32/day per room).

On the hotel list forum they are both shown as 3.5*, with the Hilton Colonial near downtown showing 4*. I found wins for the Sheraton around $90, and a bit higher for Hilton - nothing on Wyndham. Is Wyndham still selling rooms on Priceline? I know they have deep discounts on the travel sites. I was planning on starting around $85 with 3.5, then adding 4* and upping to $95 if I don't win. Thoughts?

Actually, just noticed there is no 4* listing now for Bahamas. 3.5* is highest, but there is also a category for Resorts. If I'm not successful with first 3.5* bid, can I add resorts, increase bid, and not worry about winning a dumpy 2*?

You need to bid downward, not upward. And you can not receive a * level below what you have bid.

I'm sure thereuare will chime in, but I think it would be a good idea if you read the FAQs posted here before you bid. If you're not informed, you may risk a mistake or overbidding.

Won on first bid - $95. I was actually trying to get Wyndham Resort or Sheraton Nassau Beach, but was pleasantly surprised by this. There are no 4* categories listed now for New Providence Island-Paradise Island.

Congratulations on your success!

This is a nice property very centrally located near 'downtown' and the Straw Market which is nice as it gives you some options outside of the hotel for food/drinks. They also have a nice sandy beach area which is more like a bay area which is virtually right in front of where the cruise ships dock, and it's fun to watch them come in/depart in the small quarters.
