Does Priceline only offers room for 2?

I really want to try bidding for a resort for our pre-cruise and post cruise( Dec22nd and Dec 30th) but we are a family of 3.

Should I try anyway and once I get the hotel , call them and ask for a room with double bed?

Will the resort charges an extra person fee? If they do, then it maight not be such a good deal after all.

Please, I need help before bidding.

Thanks

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.

PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request (or there could be an additional fee involved). If this is not a risk you're willing to accept, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc)

The amenities for the HOTWIRE property above match previous reports for the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino so that would be my best guess for this one.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and/or how it goes or if we can be of further help.

I saw only one 4* hotel on Priceline, which is the Concha.

Does it means that if it the hotel that I want, I should check area 8 and 4* and keep bidding until I get it?

Is there a resort fee for this hotel?

In the case I want to bid for the resort, I tried to look at the calendar of wins for the month of Decmber and it came up empty. Am I too early?

I wanted to bid now since the dates I need (Dec 22nd and Dec 30th) are high season.

Thanks

Do you mean you saw it in the 'retail' section of PRICELINE? If so, then the answer to your question above is "no". The retail and the 'opaque' sides of PRICELINE each use a different universe of hotels, so you're not necessarily bidding only on the hotels that show in the retail section of their site. As well, note that the star rating you select is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept, so even if you select 4* as the star rating, you could be upgraded to a 'Resort' or 5* hotel (assuming these are offered in the zone you're bidding)

In the case I want to bid for the resort, I tried to look at the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins for the month of Decmber and it came up empty. Am I too early?

It's not too early to begin your bidding, but it is probably a but early to see other winning bids for 9+ months from now.

I wanted to bid now since the dates I need (Dec 22nd and Dec 30th) are high season.

You need one nite for each dates (as opposed to an 8 nite stay of 12/22-12/30)?? I'm assuming this is pre/post-cruise? If so, please use separate threads for each leg of your stay... we'll use this thread for the first leg of your trip, 12/22... please feel free to start a NEW TOPIC for your 12/30 leg.

If you're ready to move forward, let us know if you want to first try for a 4* or Resort, if you're only bidding the San Juan zone, and your maximum bid... we'll then suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Another question regarding the same stay:

Hotwire posts a 3* hotel for $89

Amenities: near beach, casino in lobby, smoke-free room, fitness center, pool(S), restaurant, business center, high-speed internet (charges may apply).

Do you happen to know which hotel is it?

Thanks
